Dr. Hassan Azodi was born in a religious middle-class family on August 24, 1946 in the northern city of Rasht. In his early youth he lost his mother first and then his father and had to take care of his younger brothers and sisters.
Martyr Azodi spent his elementary and secondary education in his hometown of Rasht and was considered as a top student.
He was so dedicated to the Islamic teachings and though with many difficulties, he would find Martyr Motahhari and Dr. Shariati’s books.
After being granted Diploma, martyr Azodi went voluntarily to remote areas of the country in order to get more familiar and closely feel the difficulties and pains of the deprived oppressed people of those areas who lived under very bad living conditions.
Then he moved to Tehran to catch up on his studies and got BA degree in both Journalism and Public relations and propaganda as a result. He continued his political studies until he got his PhD in political economy in Texas University.
After the victory of the Islamic Revolution led by Imam Khomeini, people of Rasht chose him and sent him to the parliament as one of their representative.
Dr. Azodi was finally martyred as a result of the explosion of a bomb planted in the central office of the Islamic Republic Party, the then leading political party of Iran, by MKO terrorist elements on June 28, 1981.
